I am now in a foreign land. Not too faraway from home though.
This time, I travel not for leisure, but was sent by my employer to Singapore for training. I haven’t stepped into to this kiasuland country since 17 years ago. Seriously, I am not kidding you. Singapore is just right across the border and yet the last time I was here, I was only 7 years old. I can’t remember much except for the Sentosa Island Theme Park.
I managed to capture this shot when I was on the way to my hotel just now. The city centre is not too far away from the airport. Maybe it was the taxi-driver who was speeding away and it only took me 20 minutes to reach my hotel.
I present you the right view from perch of my hotel room balcony. A modern touch of the city skyline which I have yet to see completely.
Is it me or what? I find that there are more trees in Singapore than KL.
Turning to the left, there are less skyscrapers. But I’m mesmerized with the cleanliness of the streets in Singapore.
Thinking of the streets in Malaysia, hmm… Perhaps, we should learn from the Singaporeans and be more KIA-dirty!!
I didn’t have much time to explore Singapore in this trip. Like any working person, we were swamped with hectic schedules daily from 9am – 530pm. By the time we got out of the training sessions, we were exhausted mentally and physically.
I tried to squeeze in some time to explore with my colleagues from other countries on the final day.
However, Mr Merlion was under repairs when I visited the Merlion Park. And we got to see the Junior instead.
That’s all I’ve got for this trip to Singapore. Maybe the next time I will visit for leisure (not work!).
