Editor’s note: I am very eager to share some pictures with you but I won’t be able to share a lot of details. You see, I am also in the middle of unpacking from the trip to Melbourne and packing for our 2-week trip to USA to visit Mike’s family. As excited as I am to have my travel B2 visa approved, I am thrilled and anxious about the next long haul flight to the West.
As mentioned yesterday in my most recent blog entry, we were very thankful for Air Asia’s mega sales to be able to afford and embrace a brief getaway to Melbourne. Last year when I visited Melbourne, I didn’t get to see much of the city due to a short business trip. At least I got to meet up with a few good friends and Mike got to see Melbourne for the very first time.
As we rise and shine on Day 2, the first place we visited was Queen Victoria Market.
There were so much to see and buy in Queen Victoria’s market. But I’ve got to keep my hands tight in my pockets. We had no space to squeeze anything extra into the suitcase and we had to be careful with Air Asia’s baggage policy too.
We met up with my godsister for lunch and she brought us somewhere near a pier. I am really hating myself right now for forgetting the name of this place. I should have taken notes where we were.
Then, we bid farewell to my little godsister and roamed around the city. We got to see the lifestyle of the locals and students, and walked around the sinking library.
Towards the evening, we hung out at the scenic Yarra River while waiting for a friend to meet up for dinner. Isn’t the view beautiful?
The next day, we walked around the city again before heading to Planetshakers church for Sunday service at 5pm.
The day went by really fast and before we knew it, it was time to head to the airport for our night flight back to Malaysia.
Oh well, we shall visit Melbourne again in the near future. Until then, goodbye!
