By the time we arrived at Paris it was already dark and we were extremely exhausted from all the traveling in one day. We were relieved and glad that we booked the perfect hotel – Hotel des Champs-Elysées. The deluxe room was more than what we could have asked for.
The deluxe room also came with a jacuuzi bath tub that changes colors every few minutes. All I wanted that night was to soak in peace and fall asleep like a baby.
It was an immense pleasure to be able to sleep in and we took our time to get ready. Hence, we kicked start our official Day 1 in Paris at approximately 11am.
We enjoyed our brunch of French omelettes at a brasserie on the main street of Champs-Elysées.
Our day 1 was all about walking around the vicinity of Avenue des Champs-Elysées.
How could we not fall in love with the city of Paris? The Eiffel tower is such a romantic icon.
Day 2 started earlier than the first day. We managed to try different types of omelettes in an another brasserie.
After breakfast, we explored the areas surrounding the Plaza de Concorde and Madeleine.
After yet another spectacular dinner, the second night ended with a brief walk around Champs-Elysées near the Arc de Triumphe.
The third day started with a simple breakfast at a French bakery.
On the third day, we explored Saint German and the beautiful bridges along Seine River.
After we visited La Saint Chapelle, we moved on to the next tourist spot – Notre Dame.
The historic Catholic cathedral is widely considered to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture, and it is among the largest and most well-known church buildings in the world.
Notre-Dame de Paris was among the first buildings in the world to use the flying buttress (arched exterior supports).
We also took the opportunity to take a river cruise along Seine River in the evening.
I could only conclude that Paris is not just the city of love, but the city of gastronomie. We were always well-fed in any restaurant we ventured into. On top of that, art is literally everywhere you look. It seems as if every centimeter of this city is carefully crafted like a piece of art.
Stay tuned for my next entry on what we did on the final day in Paris.
