I am still pretty hyped up from the recent road trip that totalled approximately 1100 miles altogether. We drove from our home in Virginia to Buffalo, then Philadelphia, then New York City, and lastly Atlantic City before we headed back home.
Now, I promise that I will not bore you with lengthy details on what to do and where to go at Niagara Falls but here I am, sharing with you with the best shots we have taken in this well-known tourist destination.
The thought of driving for 9 hours from home (with a pit stop at Bedford, PA) to Buffalo made me giddy. You see, I hardly go on road trips that are more than 4 hours. Hence, we needed a pit stop. Pit stops can actually add a lot to your trip. It’s not just the destination, but also the journey! And not to forget, I uploaded a ton of music into my iTunes; I grooved a lot with my favorite 90’s music to keep me excited on the way to upstate New York.
By the time we had checked into the hotel, fed, and freshened up ourselves, it was already late in the afternoon. It was not easy to obtain a parking spot on a Saturday by this time.
I was so disappointed when I saw the exhaustingly long queue to the Maid of the Mist.
Hence, we decided not to waste any precious time by joining the crowd and walked around the park instead.
The very next morning, Mike and I woke up early to line up for the Maid of Mist before the crowd piled in. We were hoping not to run in a big crowd so that I could breathe easily.
Thank goodness, it only took us 25 minutes from the beginning of the line (purchasing tickets) to the boat. I wonder how long it would have taken if I had lined up the day before.
Remember to tuck your phones away when you are getting nearer to the falls. The splish-splash and the mist will make anything wet.
This is the zoomed in view from the observation deck. Man, I really wish I have a DSLR right now!
Be sure to enjoy the spectacular views of Niagara Falls as much as you can, because you never know when you will be back again. Perhaps I can cross the border to view the falls from the Canadian side in near future.
