After a few days of assisting our friends in setting up their apartment, we took them to Atlantic City on Memorial Day.
Atlantic City Beach is about 90 minutes drive towards the east, from the city of Philly, and it is the nearest shore to Philly as well. This city is an internationally renowned resort city for gambling, conventions, and leisure; hence the nickname “Las Vegas of the East“.
It was my second time to this
sin city. Mike and I were here last August when we explored the Atlantic City Boardwalk.
It was the first boardwalk in the United States, opened in 1970, along a portion of the beach to help hotel owners keep sand out of their lobbies. With the blazing sun and temperatures recorded at a high 33 deg C on Memorial Day, it was extremely perfect to hop by the beach.
Guess what? Ever since I moved to America, I have never swam at the shores before. You are right, this was my first time dipping myself in the chilly Atlantic Ocean despite the scorching heat.
Oh, I love the freezing waters but the Americans say it’s better to visit the shores in July when the waters are warmer.
