You must be wondering why I am being obsessed into making Italian food lately.
You see, I didn’t mention this earlier that I was shifting into another apartment and there is a lot to do in terms of unpacking, sorting and organizing through the boxes and plastic tubs. My knives set was nowhere near me and I had to cook anything which does not require me to use knives to cut the meat.
Thus, I had Italian for the entire week! Let’s see what I have made for the past two days.
On Friday, I made Fusilli with tomatoes and meatballs. I prefer using 100% whole grain pasta because I hate refined carbs. Meatballs are always served best with pasta and spaghetti sauce.
My friend, Aaron Long, had suggested me to make lasagna yesterday. However, I was too lazy to google up the recipe and hence, I made my own style of lasagna.
Now, you must be staring at the picture below and guessing what I have used to make this dish.
First, I stir-fried ground beef with sweet peas before adding the spaghetti sauce while the fusilli pasta is boiling in another pot. Pyrex baking dish is my best friend here as you can see. Then, I added the cooked beef into the bakeware and layered with Mozarella grated cheese alternately. Before I covered it with fusilli, I added sliced pieces of bacon for yummylicious boost. And lastly, cover up the pasta with the remaining Mozarella grated cheese and bake it for 30 minutes at 350 deg F (175 deg C).
And tadaaa… I get my own homemade lasagna! 🙂
