I had my first baby shower recently and it was hosted by my mom in law. As I have mentioned in my previous entries, I have not attended any baby shower before and I was extremely excited about it.
Most of the decorations were contributed by my mom as she felt she needed to be a part of my special day. This shower was meant to celebrate Mike and myself who are about to be the new parents, and my friends were here to shower us with gifts for the baby.
Excited, thrilled and feeling blessed were the exact words that best described my day. I felt like a kid again being surrounded by Winnie The Pooh and friends’ themed decorations.
My favourites have always been Winnie The Pooh himself and the cute little Piglet, albeit the Pooh bear is always very forgetful.
My mom in law went the extra mile in preparing the food for the guests. She and my sisters in law even crafted a baby carriage out of a watermelon. Isn’t that creative?
Besides the good food served for the guests, Kaleena had organized a few games for us.
1. We had to sniff four diapers and guess what food was in each of the diaper.
2. We had to guess how many beads there were in a jar.
3. We had to taste 5 different types of flavour from the baby food jars.
4. We were blindfolded and had to wear a diaper on a teddy bear.
Kaleena was awesome in preparing such fun games for us to enjoy.
I never knew baby showers are so fun. And of course, at the end of the shower, Mike and I were happily reading cards and opening presents from the guests. We truly appreciate every generosity shown for our AnnaKate. Those onesies, diapers, diaper genie, waterproof crib cover and et cetera will definitely be put to a good use.
Before I end, I have put together a 3 minute video of the baby shower. Enjoy! 🙂
