I love fall. Oh yes, I love fall! One of my favorite things to do during fall is to visit a pumpkin patch with my family.
You see, last year, we went on a weekend before Halloween. The day started with a cold drizzly morning but the sun began to shine towards noon. However, the roads were still soft and muddy. It was not as fun as we thought it would be when we had to ensure that our then 13 month old Annakate would not get too
Determined not to have a mud-stained toddler again this year, we took advantage of a sunny day with a high temperature of 72 deg F on the first Saturday of October to visit a berry farm about a 25 minute drive away from home. We took a hayride to the endless fields dotted with orange pumpkins and promptly searched for our autumn treasure.
Mike gave our little pumpkin scout a ride on his shoulders for the very first time.
There is nothing more precious than seeing a father bond with his daughter on a memorable day like this.
Pictures below were taken with Nikon D3200 on manual mode, f4.2, iso auto and shutter speed of 1/4000. I tried taking shots on the auto mode but they turned out blahh and I switched back to manual mode instead. I think the pictures did not turn out as good as I expected them to be. There is something missing and I cannot figure it out. Maybe a professional photographer out there could point out some of the mistakes I made here.
On another note, I have some pictures taken with my faithful iPhone too. The pictures below turned out not too bad.
Note to myself: Never try to take a selfie when my child is trying to break a neck.
And to the rest of y’all, Happy Pumpkin-Picking and Happy Autumn!
