About two weeks ago, a friend invited us (the moms and kiddos) to her little farm for a fun-filled morning. Being a mommy to an almost 3-year old, I can never decline such invitations because my dear daughter loves animals!
She could not hide her excitement as we drove across town. She was elated when I told her there would be chickens and goats.
Call me a city girl; I didn’t get much exposure to agriculture or homesteading when I was growing up. Now I am equally fascinated by nature and animals as my daughter explores.
I am very thankful that my daughter is learning and experiencing new things in different ways (as compared to me growing up).
I bet many parents (like me) adore the curious looks of our child, learning and wondering what’s on earth and what there is to explore. As the whole world is new to them, the things we take for granted every day are fascinating wonders to behold.
There goes my fearless daughter – reaching out to the goat.
Can you see the way she pets the goat? Those tiny little fingers were gently learning how a goat’s fur feels.
One of the best parts of visiting a farm will always be watching my child encounter new things.
Oh, dear daughter, I have so much to show and teach you about the wonders of God’s creation!
Unfortunately, my girl is a little too young to be jumping on the rolls of hay. Maybe in a year or two she can join in the fun.
On our way home from the farm she kept telling me how much fun she had, and deep down in my heart, I can’t wait to do this again.
