Oh boy, it feels like yesterday when we threw her first and second birthday bash. It’s unbelievable how time has flown by and Annakate has turned three.
Most of my good friends know that I love throwing parties. Last year, we failed to hold a pool party for our daughter due to the bad weather few days leading to her party but we managed to have a blast indoors by combining our housewarming and her birthday celebration together.
This year, we were so thankful to the Lord for a beautiful sunny weather all week to keep the pool waters clean and clear. It’s unquestionably not easy to maintain a pool and Mike works really hard so that we can all enjoy the pool and sunshine.
Also, it’s the third year in a row that we used Winnie the Pooh’s theme, with decorations recycled from the past two birthday parties. The budget will smile at us when we keep recycling things like that. And hopefully Annakate won’t get bored with the same theme each year. (Wait, she is too young to get bored about a theme and she loves Winnie the Pooh!)
Don’t giggle at me please. I know it’s the same handmade birthday banner. All the lazy-me had to do is to keep changing the numbers from 1st to 2nd to 3rd and so on.
The non-helium balloons were definitely remainders from the first birthday party. We finally got to use them all in this party.
These flying pink balloons were supposed to resemble Piglet. However, the lazy-me didn’t stick the pink ears and nose to each balloon. Kindly please forgive my laziness. (Pregnancy gets a free pass, right?)
We sectioned off part of the deck for younger babies to enjoy a small little pool and a splash water table.
I initially wanted to bake her a Winnie the Pooh’s face cake but I am not a pro in baking. So I baked two red velvet cakes, slapped with tons of cream cheese frosting onto the two-tier cake. Am I crazy to come up with this idea?
In fact, my friend Jia had to touch up my ugly-looking cake that morning. A big thank you to her for helping me out.
Now, this Piglet-themed cupcakes were made by my sister-in-law. Boy, she is so talented in baking. I’ve a lot to learn from her.
I must say that our daughter is truly blessed to meet good friends for the past two years. It is beyond amazing to be able to celebrate her third birthday with them. We can’t thank the Lord enough for blessing us with great friendships and allowing us to share this joy with others.
Here are more pictures taken at the pool party and we hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
Annakate had a blast that day. She couldn’t stop telling us how much fun she had after the party ended. I am convinced she will always remember this special day!
As her parents, we know how much she loves her friends and we are extremely thankful for all who have come to celebrate with her.
